Our History

In February 1978, John Blanks was working at a local auto paint shop. He was not happy with the quality of work the owners wanted, so he decided to start working out of his garage. One day, David Dobbins stopped by John’s house to see his high school friend and shared that he felt the same way about his current job painting cars. So, they decided to go into business as a team.

Later, as they were traveling to a car lot to pick up a vehicle, David, John, and Karen (John’s wife), came up with a name for their shop that embodied their passion and attention to detail: Paint & Body Perfectors.

Paint & Body Perfectors was founded on March 1, 1978. The new business ran out of John and Karen's garage for about six weeks. Since Karen could not use any 220 power for her dishwasher or clothes dryer while John and David worked, they quickly realized they had to relocate!

For six years, Paint & Body Perfectors rented the building next to the current location. They finally broke ground on their own property in 1985 and have been going strong ever since.

Our Staff

John Blanks | Co-Owner & Estimator

John has nearly 41 years of experience in the automotive repair industry, and he is one of the co-owners at Paint & Body Perfectors. He enjoys spending his time away from the shop planting trees in his yard, and doing yard work.

David Dobbins | Co-Owner & Shop Foreman

David, aka "Dosh," has almost 41 years of experience working on vehicles. He is the other co-owner of Paint & Body Perfectors. David has a 1937 Chevrolet that he has been restoring and customizing for 36 years. In his words, you can't rush perfection.

Karen Blanks | Office Manager

Karen has close to 36 years of experience in the automotive field. She is married to John Blanks and has been involved with the business since it opened in 1978. She loves to cook and is an avid exerciser.

Kim Gallas | Administrative Assistant

Kim has over 28 years of experience as an administrative assistant, and she has worked at Paint & Body Perfectors for 25 years. She spends most of her time away from work on her boat and spending time with her family.

Jennifer Blanks | Quality Control & Parts Manager

Jennifer has 16 years of experience in the automotive field and has worked at Paint & Body Perfectors for ten years. Jennifer is the proud mommy of her son and loves Starbucks.

Abby Lawrence | Marketing Director

Abby has over 15 years of experience working in the automotive field. She has worked at Paint & Body Perfectors for eight years. Abby has a B.S. in political science and enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.

Robert Bollin | Body Repair Technician

Robert has over 31 years of experience in automotive repair. He has worked at Paint & Body Perfectors for 13 years. He earned the nickname "Buns" in high school by working at McDonald's, prepping hamburger buns.

Lucky Hardy | Body Repair Technician

Lucky has over 15 years of experience in car repair and more than 26 years in mechanic repair. He has worked at Paint & Body Perfectors for 15 years. Though, if you ask him, he’ll tell you, "I would rather be scuba diving."

Trey Harris | Body Repair Technician

Trey has over 14 years of experience working on vehicles. He has worked at Paint & Body Perfectors for eight years. But, in Trey’s words, "I would rather be fishing."

Mike Beasley | Paint Technician

Mike has over 19 years of experience working with vehicles. He has been at Paint & Body Perfectors for 16 years. Mike enjoys grouping fries by size then eating them in descending order.

DJ Dobbins | Paint Technician

DJ has seven years of experience working in the automotive repair industry, and he has worked at Paint & Body Perfectors for all of them. He loves to tell jokes and make people laugh.

Max Majors | Paint Technician

Max has seven years of experience as a paint technician. He has worked at Paint & Body Perfectors for over a year. When asked for a quote, Max stated, "I would rather be skydiving."

Ron Howard | Detail

Ron has over 11 years of experience working in automotive detail, and he has worked at Paint & Body Perfectors for a little over two years. He enjoys spending time with his kids, singing, and riding his motorcycle in his free time.
